You can get a SN850/w heat sink for $30 more, and not only is it faster (7300 MB/s), the price to performance ratio is better. And it's only going to get cheaper as more options are added to the market - that is the benefit of supporting an open standard. You can also repurpose it for other devices. I don't know why you guys choose to play dumb on this.

never, that would defeat the entire purpose of owning a console.

the great thing about closed platforms is the plug in and play nature, they don’t have to troubleshoot for 5000 different set ups. If one person has a glitch everyone has a glitch which makes it easy to solve for the devs.

What's the rush? They're still beta testing. When they're done I'm sure the sticks from the highly reputed brands like Samsung, Crucial, and Western Digital will work with the PS5.
