Sean Penn on 60 Minutes discussing his El Chapo interview

In any case, I did read his Rolling Stone article and the criticisms in the press afterward.
It seems to me that everyone is upset that Sean Penn secured this interview with Joaquin Guzman and not some other reporter.
People accused him of seeking this out for his own personal gain, which is such bullshyt. They accuse it of being distasteful because Chapo is a drug kingpin, as if reporters never interviewed murderers or dictators or other criminals.
If Lara Logan had gone to Mexico and found El Chapo, nobody would be talking shyt.
I read that Sean Penn laments that a discussion on the drug war and it's policies are not being discussed and therefore called his mission a failure.

I saw this earlier as well. Dude seems to be getting a lot of stick from everyone probably because of what @Raul said about the "interview" being secured by him and probably because he happened to came upon El Chapo before law enforcement could find him. Also, it's very funny that everything came down to a woman.
