I think people let Maino get away with saying that because they're afraid of him. I never heard a song from Maino where i felt like :ohhh: This nikkas nice. Hes average, his music is average, and his beats are not classic. Its not worth the trouble to tell Maino hes not that nice as a new yorker because the nikka will probably confront you for some kind of physical confrontation.

*i heard you said i was average. (looks around to see if anyones watching so he can slap you)
You gotta be careful what you talk about and who you talk about :birdman:. You cant just call nikkas average unless you prepared for the consequences of your actions, You dont understand the music because you dont come from where i come from and the pain i been through to get here so yes im the king, now say im average again *

:merchant:

That or maybe brooklyn is just that irrelevant right now and maino is the hottest artist :ld:

People give more respect to goons killing people and making shytty records than a nice MC these days, anyway. People don't give a fukk about the 4 elements of Hip Hop anyway, only the rap sheets of killing and "real nikka shyt" :snoop:

Hip Hop is fukked in all ways.

Claim a kingdom of ruins brehs

Maino can't run NYC, so he lowered his standards to running gentrified Brooklyn. Of course he uses Suge Knight tactics to bully people to like his music.

The World, but from BK
:lupe: tell the story breh

My brother was older and used to go to Tech at the time. Dude was taking me to a football game there so I met him in the area. We were at a street corner and a fukin bottle flew outta nowhere and almost hit us. We looking around on some :dwillhuh:. Heard some dudes yell across the street at us to hold up. It was like 4 of 'em. I was like 9 or 10 at the time and my brother was 15 or 16. Dude grabs me and was told me to boogie, and he was following. As we're running, he runs past me (I was slow :manny:) and grabs me to hurry up…. :snoop: then we trip over each other. By the time we get up, dudes are surrounding us. One put him in a choke hold and the other took out a knife. We both got on some :whoa: , and they took my brother's Starter hat and tapped his pockets. They took my hat too, didn't bother tapping my pockets. I fukked up my elbow when i fell though. Old school BK for ya :pachaha:. My bro was hella tight about that hat and that I couldn't run faster though :lolbron:

Sean P founded Decepts in Brooklyn Tech?

When dudes gotta talk about all the "other shyt they do" outside of rap, then you know their music is garbage. Rap has been forever ruined because a lot of these no new talent having goons started using it as a hustle.

Exactly. No Maino stan ever have an actual quotable. Some people in here think he on Nas status on the mic. :russ:

I always thought Ruck was an artsy/smart/talented dude who just happened to be big and from BK. Rock on the other hand always had that street knucklehead air about him.
Ruck is actually both those both those things as are most Decepts.

Ehhh thing about new York street gangs was that at that time they were not organized. Not in the sense of crips, bloods, disciples etc... It was not the all encompassing mind washing gang is my life that other cities gangs were on. Also it would be limited in scope of criminal enterprises, like decepticons really were just organized around strong arm robbery, lo life's just focused on theivery with some strong arm robbery, the drug gangs were completely separate, as were the murder and extortion gangs... And it was normal for dudes to join different gangs, dude might have been a decept as a teen, joined up with a drug crew in his early twenties, and got down with god body when he got locked... And the prison gangs were completely different too... Outside of prison 5%ers weren't really a gang, but inside they absolutely were... Just different from other gangs

Well, Sean P said he used to get beat up all the time and was a nerd, until about 12 years old then he got tired of it and started fighting back then it was no turning back at that point.

They both were goons. Ruck was just always comical, even in their old videos he was the only one goofing off. But you got to think, it's really hard to come from Brownsville (in any era but especially the early 80s) and not be violent.

Man, I know some who weren't about that shyt. I also know some who was fronting like
they were about it and really weren't. They just had to front because of the Brownsville/
Brooklyn image. The only people I would be worried about are people who get high,
drink a lot, do stickups or hustle. Those things need you to be aggressive. If they was just squares, they were cool people, unless they tried to play that tough guy Image.

If that's true then how is Rick Ross, a known fraud one of the biggest cats in hip hop? Internet forums glorify all the ignorance and violence but gangster rappers are long gone in the mainstream breh.

Ross makes good music and good albums, IMO. That protected him from being food in the industry. People in the NY scene praise Maino because: 1) they scared of receiving the "Hand of God" or 2) They care about "real street shyt" more than the music itself. You are right, on the fact that gangster rappers are gone from the mainstream, but don't ignore the fact that Maino gets more recognition for his street shyt than his music.
