1-9 VS SEC24-0![]()
Is it a myth that OSU is 1-9 against the SEC in bowl games over the last 20 years? @smitty22
missouri benefitted from injuries to georgia, florida, and south carolina, they get props, for playing without franklin for a few months, besides him what were their other big injuries?
florida lost their starting QB for the year in week 3, then their best defensive player the following week in practice, then starting RB soon after. Florida has had season ending injuries to multiple starters on both sides of the ball, along with georgia.
A&M had that big win vs bama but besides that they lost to florida, LSU twice, and other squads as well.
Whats Urbans record against the SEC at OSU?Actually 8-11-1 vs sec and urban at OSU is 24-0![]()

What sec school beat urban this year? Oh and vandy bytched out of playing usWhats Urbans record against the SEC at OSU?![]()
Couple of thoughts.
SEC is still the best conference. One year without the chip isn't gonma change that.
You can't compare urbs tOSU to tressels.. Two totally different coaches with different systems. We shattered the school record for most points in a season and still got two more games to play. This style of play gives us a better chance to win a chip.
A&M had a better team prior to their SEC arrival. They would have probably loss 4-5 Big 12 games with that swiss cheese of a defense they had year 1 in the SEC. The SEC offenses just didn't have the aptitude to take advantage of it. A number of Big 12 teams would have frankly outscored them and would have had enough speed on defense to throttle Manziel. In year 2 they fielded even a worse defense and SEC teams were finally able to take advantage of such. Bama would have beat them easily in year 1 if they opened the offense up and tossed the ball around.
Yea Missouri sucked in the conference last year, but this year is just ONE year away from that, and they are contending to be on top of the SEC. The majority of their contributing players were recruited to play in the big 12. And stop with the bullshyt on recruiting. They didn't magically start getting 4 and 5 star recruits once it was announced they were going to the SEC nor did they stop recruiting for the spread offense they run.
What cannot be understated however is it appears there is a cultural change happening in the SEC. The ground and pound defensive slugfest are started to be come few and far in between. Instead we are seeing shootouts and games basically ending on who has the ball last. You know shyt y'all used to discredit the Big 12 for.
And 4 out of 14 teams is hardly parity.

I don't think any other conference has even had 4 national champions, let alone in the same decade.
