As somebody who's lived in Latin American countries for periods and met many black latinos, I thank god every day he didnt make me black in a Latin American country. Yikes! The top of the power structure in these countries are as racist and sexist as you could imagine. A black woman would be lucky to win such a contest much less ever ascend to any real power in latin america-- which is why their entire economy (without brazil, mexico, and chile) is collectively worse than Africas despite them being white and benefiting from global white supremacy on a small scale.

First of all, there is no black community here. The majority of people in favelas are black because blacks in general are broke.


The shytstorm of the late ending of slavery here, still hurts BIG the diaspora. But you see, brazil got this propaganda that it ain't a racist country. Wich was the big plan made by cacs to brainwash blacks. So you have a century of racism that you can't really see but if you have enough knowledge, you can see the damage.

I know what you mean breh. I felt very welcomed with people who were black and even felt welcomed with people who were white in latin america, but there is something there...You cant put your finger on 1 thing exactly, but .


You just broke it down perfectly when you said it's like the american system but something different, because i didnt know how to explain that to people.

You understand what i mean, it's no disrespect to many latinos because we are all distant family, separated by tragedy. However, the racism down there is almost expected and accepted. There is a sense that any successful black person should be thankful for the opportunity and the natural order of where you are in society is very much determined by your gender and how dark your skin isnt. I was amazed to see American white supremacy had such a strong hold in latin america, but the worst thing is it's not exactly the traditional white supremacy, it's like a warped and confused version where the people kinda dont want to follow it but it's expected and even encouraged by the wealthy elite, and your rise is almost dependent on supporting bigotry in order to be accepted in group.
