Smokin Rider
I been official
Lost my license, not no weird shyt but I fukked up and lost my license. I made amends and done got sober
YepDUI?
I got terminated from a good job for something outside of work, but they encouraged me to reapply after a year and I can get my job back. I went back to my old job and I hate it, im trying to make a move lol
You live in Boston in less than 75k ?![]()
I figured. shyt works similarly where I work.
Facts. & Dont listen to nobody telling you to take a knee and hold off either. There’s always that one person at your job like “just tough it out breh” man hell nah. I ain’t never left a job for a worse one, even if there’s unemployment or struggles you have to deal with in the meantime, that next job gonna be a step up usually.Im not gonna fight my job for shyt, I'll ask but if I don't get it im out...Will bust my ass in the meantime
Not first IT position, but first Network Engineer positionIsn’t this your first IT gig?
Did you move up there for it? If so, why not a place closer.
And not going to tell you NOT to job hop, but that doesn’t look TOO great on the resume. If you find something better then it is what it is, until then I would just focus on learning whatever I need to for my role, then whatever I can after that. If they have training programs, I suggest you take as many as you can especially if free.
Learn the systems used and remember the names, learn how the corporate game is played there because this is something you may not know… everywhere you go their IT infrastructure is going to be different.
They may use different tools, different processes, different policies, etc., basically, everywhere you are new you will have to start from the bottom up. EVERYTIME. Some things might be the same or done similar but not all and not every role, even if they have the same title.
Happened to me. Let go, rehired, same title more responsibilities.
And Boston is dirtier than all of those places imoI did it for a while, but I had a company car and corporate card, so that made it livable. Outside of Boston proper (Cambridge, Harvard, Somerville, Emerald Necklace etc) you can live off 75K
For sure. I'm a hundred percent with you.Facts. & Dont listen to nobody telling you to take a knee and hold off either. There’s always that one person at your job like “just tough it out breh” man hell nah. I ain’t never left a job for a worse one, even if there’s unemployment or struggles you have to deal with in the meantime, that next job gonna be a step up usually.
And if not, fukk it, keep it pushing there too. You know yourself better than anyone, if it doesn’t feel right fukk it. But yeah, definitely make sure you skilled up, it’s no different than preparing for a long trip. Even if you think you good it’s best to be prepared.
that mentality of sticking to one job out of comfort is honestly how I believe wages got to where they are now. We should be highly mobile in these companies or else they take advantage. Everyone is different though, it is what it is.
OP is going to quit, move out of Boston and miss out on the Afro Latinas, Africans, and Caribbeans that are over there![]()
He's missing out
Had to get a place on short notice, took the first place that called me backWhy didn't you just find a place in Manchester?
And Boston is dirtier than all of those places imo
OP coulda been living in a clean ass town, paying less money for rent, and within range of tons of smart ass women graduates from those top of the line schoolsno shots at the brehs who are from Boston but I been running around this whole state for a few weeks now, there are WAY nicer options all throughout the state, I only saw homeless people and fukkery when I passed through Boston, nowhere else
damn near forgot that was a thing for a second lol.
If you just picking a city off of name recognition you aren't a very experienced traveler, the best places are ALWAYS kept secret, doesn't matter what state we talking about,
