Did you move up there for it? If so, why not a place closer.
And not going to tell you NOT to job hop, but that doesn’t look TOO great on the resume. If you find something better then it is what it is, until then I would just focus on learning whatever I need to for my role, then whatever I can after that. If they have training programs, I suggest you take as many as you can especially if free.
Learn the systems used and remember the names, learn how the corporate game is played there because this is something you may not know… everywhere you go their IT infrastructure is going to be different.
They may use different tools, different processes, different policies, etc., basically, everywhere you are new you will have to start from the bottom up. EVERYTIME. Some things might be the same or done similar but not all and not every role, even if they have the same title.
Happened to me. Let go, rehired, same title more responsibilities.

You live in Boston in less than 75k ?
I did it for a while, but I had a company car and corporate card, so that made it livable. Outside of Boston proper (Cambridge, Harvard, Somerville, Emerald Necklace etc) you can live off 75K

Facts. & Dont listen to nobody telling you to take a knee and hold off either. There’s always that one person at your job like “just tough it out breh” man hell nah. I ain’t never left a job for a worse one, even if there’s unemployment or struggles you have to deal with in the meantime, that next job gonna be a step up usually.
And if not, fukk it, keep it pushing there too. You know yourself better than anyone, if it doesn’t feel right fukk it. But yeah, definitely make sure you skilled up, it’s no different than preparing for a long trip. Even if you think you good it’s best to be prepared.
that mentality of sticking to one job out of comfort is honestly how I believe wages got to where they are now. We should be highly mobile in these companies or else they take advantage. Everyone is different though, it is what it is.

no shots at the brehs who are from Boston but I been running around this whole state for a few weeks now, there are WAY nicer options all throughout the state, I only saw homeless people and fukkery when I passed through Boston, nowhere else

If youre south of the airport that’s definitely true.
There are a ton of fine ass women up there and surprisingly diverse unlike dry ass Austin.
Places like Dorchester aka deathchester and heroin alley were a no go. Same goes for Revere and Chelsea to a lesser extent. Boston proper like the back bay, Fenway, and seaport are some nice ass areas, but you better be well over 150K base if you wanna be there. Medford, Malden, Arlington, Assembly, are better options if you ain’t to blow 3-4 stacks minimum on rent if you under 80K. The nice thing about Boston is 5 mins will put you in a completely new city once you’re outta downtown.
Also I bet OP didn’t research but like Seattle, Boston is one of those cities where luxury apartments have to hold a block units for people making under a certain amount of money.
