Little off topic but the older you get the more you start to realize just how pointless and backwards that all the categorizing/dividing/grouping people as this and that really is.

Black people? Okay, but what kind of black people?
Caribbean? Okay, but what part of the Caribbean?
Jamaica? Okay, but where in Jamaica?
Spanishtown? Okay, but North or South?
North? Okay, but what neighborhood?
Etc…

It’s ridiculous, lol. I understand tribalism, it was a key component to our survival as a species…but we should be wayyyyyy past that at this point in our timeline.

I think the difference is, Black Americans in Hip Hop didn’t celebrate their Southern roots like the Caribbean folks celebrated their’s.


Now that Northern elitism has come back to bite.
