Happened to me several times but never in front of a crowd. It’s was always 1 or 2 people in the office and I knew before hand I was being let go rather it be politics or budget cuts so my colleagues already knew I was on the outs and there wasn’t much of a surprise. Going home realizing you currently don’t have a way to feed your family is a scary fkn feeling. It’s only happened once while my child has been born, I hope to hell I never have that feeling ever again.

Been good ever since but that short period was scary as fk not having a steady income and being a gig worker.

At one of my first jobs in my field, dude that trained me got fired for some shyt that wasn't really even in his control. Some new shyt they implemented that was prone to issues and no one understood but exposed us to all types of mishaps. He got caught up in an error that weighed so much on the company's reputation he got cut along with two others involved. Now that sucked.

Doing shyt he shouldn't have been doing. It was some stupid shyt too. He was even warned not to do it and he still did it. On one hand, I felt bad it happen to him but on the other, it was one of those things that make you think "How could you be so dumb?"

But he was probably one of the most senior and knowledgeable people on the team which makes it really suck because now we are down a vital person and we will be responsible to pick up the slack.
