I was Sega gang all day…had a genesis, Sega cd, Sega Saturn and finally the Dream cast. So many memories

I copped a dreamcast with my first paycheck at my first job




A couple a months later sega announced that it would be discontinued

i was mad as fukk, I retired from Consol video games after that,, my next console would be a xbox 360

Jus curious what games you remember playing on it? Also how did the downloading work back then? Did it take forever? Were your games stored somehow or did you have to re-download them every time? Was the service reliable? Did you ever "lose connection" while playing? Did you get a chance to play Protoman or Megaman Wily Wars or Alien Soldier? There's a ton of lost media from the platform.

Had the NES and SNES as a jit and then a friend dropped the Genesis off for free one day.

I remember having sega genesis for Christmas and having a SNES as well.

I didn't think about which was better until
Playstation and Nintendo dropped. Consoles begun that gaming during the 32 bit cycle.

Romhackers went back and coded Winston into the OG Sega Genesis version of Ghostbusters.
They coded, animated, and programmed all of his sprites from scratch to make sure he fit in to the style of the game. They even added him to cutscenes.

Cus video games was expensive!

Back in the day we ain't had the money for Sega AND Nintendo in the crib.

Nowadays having Playstation, Xbox, and Nintendo in the living room is normal, but owning two game systems in the 90s was like having two TV sets in the 50s.

You had to choose one and roll with it. So of course people got defensive over their purchases. shyt was personal. Like "haha you bought the Sega Saturn? shyt sucks, dummy!" And that shyt stang for real cus you dropped $500 you saved up over the entire year for that Sega Saturn, an extra controller and a couple games. And your friends that dropped $300 on that new Sony Playstation the same year are clowning you and playing more games.

It's like losing a poker match. That shyt really had nikkas heated.

People complain about games now being $70 new. But back then in the early 90s they were $50 new.

A 40% increase in a span of 40 years aint shyt compared to any other type of inflation in that timeframe. $50 was alot of money back then

They had $99 games back then as well. Brand new games were expensive AF.
