I took french in HS for 2 years and didn't learn shyt. what do you mean by mental roadblock though?

I took Italian for 2 years in HS and I barely learned anything too, I think it had to do with the fact that it wasn't an honors class. It was just the regular class so I was in there with some fukking idiots. My teacher for Italian 1 was a racist hater from Palermo, teacher for Italian 2 was a milf with a fat pum pum so I ain't pay much attention

I think I've hit this mental roadblock cause it got a bit harder, I'm learning past tense now.

Now have you had some French training before doing the duolingo thing or you learning straight off the app?

I should have clarified, I'm trying to re-learn French from the beginning. I learned in middle school all 3 years through the IS program but once I got to HS it stopped cause those fukking racist French teachers didn't recommend me for the IB program.

yea they all derive from Latin, so a lot of similar words are used across those languages. If you pay attention to context, you will most likely guess what that word/sentence means.
