Don't need Spanish cause that's my mother language. I been on Duolingo for a while tryna learn French. I have 55% fluency but I've hit mental roadblock.

Now have you had some French training before doing the duolingo thing or you learning straight off the app?

Why is memrise superior in your opinion?

memrise has better explanations of certain terms. for example in spanish the words for "you" are usted and tu. memrise will explain when to properly use each term. duolingo wont. also memrise will teach to you say useful things early on. with duolingo youll be stuck with shyt like "el mono escribe un libro". memrise also has games that make mesmerizing things easy and fun. If you want fluency in the language, I suggest memrise.

i was on it heavy a few weeks back...had a 30-something day streak...then the app fukked up and didn't count one of the days i did and tried to get me to pay $3 to repair my streak...i said fukk it after that

Serious? I've never heard of that. They do offer a paid version but that's completely optional.

yeah, it was optional, but seeing my streak go from 30something days back to 0 killed my motivation...might get back on it tho...

duolingo is cool and all but if you wanna learn a language and actually retain the information "Memrise" is that app. Learning languages is one my favorite tings rn. either way good thread.

I was already almost fluent, so I can't quite judge. I will say Memrise is better.tho, I used another app that forced you to convo with ppl. For instance I would be talking to a Spanish speaker that wants to learn English. I type in Spanish while they type back in English
