Wale just flopped and so did Meek

This isnt 1999. People dont buy cds anymore like that

Selling more than 100,000 in their 1st week shouldnt be flopping anymore

According to you, every rapper is flopping over the last 2 years besides cole, minaj, wayne, lamar, jayz, and drake.

Who tries to release 3 compilation albums and have them be successful?...Has any label even attempted to release more than 2? YM, G.O.O.D., G-Unit, Bad Boy, Death Row, Def Jam or nobody else has had 3 complilations with buzz... Obviously there isnt gonna be much buzz th 3rd time around, but even so they still did French Montana/2 Chainz numbers...

3rd compilation with no real single 58k ain't to bad.

After seeing what two chainz, french, Ace hood and that rich gang album, which all had decent singles.

MMG1 sold 59k week 1
MMG2 sold 98k week 1
MMG3 sold 58k week 1

this and also the fact the difference between 59/98/58k is basically negligible...on the artists side, they're prolly not gonna see a dime on the back end in either case...only way you're banking from sales that low is if there's a hit single on the project that generates a lot of publishing money (primary reason why i never understand why people make the "so and so sold about the same but without a big hit single" argument like that's a good thing :heh: ...big singles generate money people) or using the visibility of the album cycle to book more dates on the road...on the label side, if the difference between 59k-98k-58k meant absolutely anything to their bottom line they wouldn't be getting release dates every year and be on their 3rd volume in 3 consecutive summers...no repeated pushbacks or half a dozen singles chasing a hit before the album drops...which speaks to their expectations and the type of budget given to these projects...you're not gonna release 3 consecutive flops on an annual basis that's costing the label money like it's nothing...we seen how quick the entire G-Unit label got dropped from Interscope after Banks 2nd album and the 2nd G-Unit group album flopped...they had higher overhead and cost Jimmy money

I had no idea that this was dropping
due to poor promotion and no hits. Ross went oldschool trying to get some publicity, clowning TMZ and paying a woman to faint at their signing. But if you don't have a hit in the streets or on the pop charts you ain't doing decent numbers.

MMG is done brehs. Watch Ross push Mastermind back multiple times, then not go gold.
