IG has always been primarily used for selfies
At one point, it was just used for random pictures and not the same cliche stuff (yes pictures of the face were taken as well). This was before "selfies" and way before "selfie sticks" were actually things; pictures of food was even more popular than selfies not too long ago. Even on Twitter, at one point people never even used pictures on Twitter like they do for "memes" or reactions. We could even go further, at one point "memes" did not even mean what they do to Twitter users now. "Memes" were image macros that were most typically used on certain *chan sites for example.
Word. I forgot there was a time when I legit thought of going to random places just to take pics of cool stuff and use filters to make it look awesome.

I deleted it.And them stupid ass quote pictures. I sound old as fukk but I remember when that shyt first started nice pictures was actually being uploaded. nikkas was actually out doing shyt.
Now it's bytches uploading selfies or collages every hour. Or posting some dumb ass quote how nikkas ain't shyt...loyalty is dead...or nobody keeps it real. nikkas putting up videos of them smoking knowing damn well it's reggie
People ruined the social aspect of the Internet in general. Before high-speed internet was widely available and people could have access to pretty much every website using a mobile device, the Internet was much more pleasant socially. I remember when YouTube comments used to actually be about the video.Now you have a whole bunch of people who once had to keep their opinions/misery, among other things, to themselves being able to have a platform to share it with the world.
Ah the Internet when the best time to use it was late night when you knew nobody was going to call you knocking you off your dial up connection and your free trail AOL disks
