i dont disagree. but the fact is i paid off my degree and im more financially secure than a large portion of the country, despite misconceptions. at least about me personally
i should have been more specific in saying that the only person i know getting disability checks is fully capable of working, and thats what i cant cosign. literally, all i said
our military complex could give everyone a fukking disability check, but thats not the topic of the thread. dont think im not more disgusted by that fact

Republicans know the the reserve fund for social security is almost depleted in which instance congress transfers funds from the disability trust fund which I think has happened at least 10 times since it's inception. Now that they control both the house and the senate this is a strategic move in a long line of attempts to abolish the safety net by blaming individuals with disabilities, while gutting both programs for the disabled and retired.

i definitely took a few broadsides in here from you and won won and TUH. my initial post was just me remmebring my initial reaction to this one dude i know, who gets checks, and my disgust at any of my tax money going to this dude

Senator Paul may win praise and support from his benefactors the Koch brothers but his national political naivety is now exposed with his view on this program. Moving against social security and the related disability program is guaranteed political suicide. Seniors and the disabled are the largest voting chunk in this country and they don't play that cutting benefits stuff.
He and the rest of the conservatives looking to find and cut government waste/fraud would do well to focus the the trillions that evaporate in the DOD. But we all know that will never happen any time soon.
To be fair, the federal government has been making successful strides in combating medicaid fraud recently.
