you should also send the tracks without any fx or eq or panning or anything (unless it's a part of the production like a filter sweep or something and even then, it may not even really be necessary). also, include a rough mix so the engineer has an idea of where you're trying to go with it.

i had someone..a long time ago, take my shyt and run with it, i didint give a fukk, i promoted like it was mine.

when i started using my mpc with pro tools way back when at a friends house this was very difficult for me to conceptualize, things were easier with fl studio so i just started using that.
