Bol didn't make that much compared to Serge and he was building hospitals, Serge probably handing out under $100k a year to them, cause the American dollar just stretches so long.

Serge got a max coming his way, one of them new TV deal maxes.
I hope he doesn't think like that, you can be a torn acl or achilles away from losing millions :wow:

I hope he builds systems over there are self sustaining.

  • Learning centers with solar cells to give children lights at night.
  • Trade classes on things used in everyday life (construction, mechanics, farming)
  • Farming systems so that they can produce their own food.

He could probably build a nice center that encompasses all this for about 50K. The beauty of that system is that it generates an economy of people selling their services that they learned, it promotes education and it literally feeds people which can also be sold and further boost their local economy.

If Serge set aside $1M he could create 20 self sustaining systems that will have a, generational, residual effect.

I doubt he goes broke, dude is only 25 and will be 27 when the new TV deal starts, he's going to get a max mane. The average person in his country makes like $1000 a year, that house he built for his grandmother was probably under 6k.

The only thing I didn't really like about the video is he doesn't seem to understand how fortunate he was to hit the genetic lottery, telling kids they can make it if they try is dishonest, some people truly get struck by lightning and end up with physical attributes that are basically one in a million.

This.

That's why people who make money need to go back and create systems that will teach skills sets centered around sustenance. That way they can self sustain them selves and not NEED to go to the NBA and make millions.

I used to think he was from the DRC instead of Congo-Brazzaville. The country has a small population and produces oil and should be way better than it is, it reminds me of Equatorial Guinea in the misuse of funds. I liked the Lingala part, some Africans who leave their country are accused of being arrogant when they come back so they had to test him.

Nah that was exactly the issue. Good currency stretches but some things (e.g. hospitals) are expensive no matter where you build them. Bol truly understood the need of his country and bled himself dry trying to fulfil it. No amount of money Ibaka makes will be enough to avoid that for definite if his heart is really that big.

What does that mean exactly? Im not being sarcastic, Im being serious.

If you walk by a homeless person (no drug habits/no mental illness) and give him 100 and tell him to work hard. What do you think the outcome will be.
-OR-
If you were hired at a new job that had a specific process but they DIDN'T give you job training, but they just told you to work hard. What would do you think the outcome will be?

All I said was that money is NOT the problem, good intentions are NOT the problem. (It is part of the solution but it is not the entire solution) People need a working SYSTEM that will teach people how to build an economy.
