This thread is not for acceptance or approval. I don't care if anybody likes me or disapproves of my existence. This is solely out of curiosity.
I'm a light skinned Dominican. White Hispanic. I was born in the States, but both of my parents are from DR. I'm a bit of a mutt. African, Native Indian, and European blood run through these veins and form the features that make my body what it is.
I grew up in NYC. My cultural background up until I was about 15 was strictly hip-hop. I didn't even start speaking Spanish until my early 20's.
(according to what some people on the coli would have you believe) All Dominicans are c00ns. We deny our African heritage and would sell out any black person for the white man's approval. But we are African.
My girlfriend is black. AA, but culturally in tune with Haiti and Jamaica (where her parents are from). We didn't start dating out of sexualization/fetishization of the other's skin color or background. We just like each other.
I'm the lightest person she's ever dated. She has nothing against black men. It just so happens that she is not currently dating one. She's pro-black and we (half jokingly) talk shyt about Caucasians/Saxons. She has however told me not to comment on certain things because there's no way I could understand.
She sees people for who they are. Am I taking a good one, or does the fact that she'd even sleep with someone who isn't black automatically make her a wench?
