The others around you may not believe he was the traitor no matter how much evidence given. The same way we're always skeptical of allegations against us as a whole due to the fact that false ones have been used 2 hold us back for centuries.......the crowd wouldn't be easy 2 convince.

This isn't Terminator where you're goin back and killing something non-human which people would never empathize with. It would still be someone that was liked, disliked, loved by others even if they actions prior 2 snitching were just a facade.

The murder would only create hysteria, unease, confusion and more in-fighting i.e. the LAST thing needed.
