Yup. No different from Instagram’s feed and it’s infinite scrolling. It’s there to keep you hooked with no end.
In regards to the bolded, that’s exactly what it is. For all the faults with TLR, it does have diverse opinions and people (myself included) have conceded when we’re wrong.
There was a thread on here while ago about why they keep trying to prop up Issa Rae as beautiful when she’s average at best. I agreed with the premise until a female poster pointed out CACs do the same with Jennifer Aniston and her ilk. And how we are too hard on the standards of black women’s beauty in a Eurocentric society.
I fell back and said she was right. There was no back and forth. Just some healthy discourse where I came from it a bit more enlightened.
Forums like this, especially ones where the members are linked via an appreciation of something, are different to antisocials in that respect. Sure you may get the occasional shouting match but generally people take on board what someone is saying and broaden their perspective as they build. Either that or they catch feelings about what you said, get emotional and sit there like this:
Waiting for the time to pop a hot neg in your direction

Yet and still, its more civilized on a forum that the cartoonish antisocials where people are all extra, all the time.
The Coli is like Cheers, a bar where you usually see the same faces and its a bit dusty in clientele as well as conversation. Socials are like a brand new club with extra oxygen pumped and laced drinks in so people act up on purpose so it puts on a good show for everyone present. The environment isn't designed to be conducive to anything of worth, only hedonism.
People are too caught up in the dopamine loop to question the nature of this "reality" and thus virtual insanity slowly becomes actuality...
