I'm not an atheist but I respect having your own unique interpretation of what you think God is a hell of a lot more than following a religion. I don't think Christians are honest with themselves.

It's not simply because they feel your beliefs are stupid.

It's because they're constantly surrounded by and bombarded with the idea of your beliefs almost every second of every day.

It's really just that simple.

And christians like any other religion, are totally comfortable with the act because everybody else is doing what they're doing.

Nobody likes to be singled out.

Imagine something as simple as having to be some place where folks are fans of Team A, but you're a fan of Team B.

It's a game where there is no winner, the teams just play.

But fans of Team A feel they are winning, simply because everyone around them are fans of Team A.

You listen to people cheering for Team A. Team A colors. Team A themed food comes to your table. Team A on the television, Team A on the speakers, you cant take a piss without seeing Team A toilets.

You take your dikk out, dude comes and stands right next to you. "Hey, breh! How bout that Team A!? "

You see a girl looking bored at the bar, you try to get at least SOME enjoyment out of the night. She's like "Why you dressed like that? Where yourTeam A colors? Why are you even talking to me!? "

Any sensible person would've left by now. Imagine this shyt happened to you if you were a Cavs fan and you walked into Golden Curry Warrior Wings™ Night at Buffalo Wild Wings (yes I just made that up).

But nah, you can't leave.


When you start getting mad and looking at folks going "Yaay Team A!" over imaginary scores and you start angrily pointing out flaws in the teamwork and play and start dragging out bad stats and players and shytty coaching and where this mystery owner at whenever Team A is mentioned in the slightest?


Fans of Team A are gonna go " wow, what an arrogant dikkhead that dude that likes Team B is. How he gonna think he know so much about Team A? He doesn't even come to our games! "

Thought about this myself and the only conclusion I've found is they're basically a$$holes. They search for information that confirms their own beliefs and then beat other people in the head about their beliefs because it doesn't confirm to their own belief system. They have basically put in a bunch of work to become the exact thing they started out hating and finding a way to be the exact opposite of. Only to become the same thing with a different message.

Just fyi, this applies to 100% of beliefs for 100% of people.

The only atheist a$$holes I've ever seen were on the internet. I don't think they are the majority, though.
Just the loud, dikkish minority that stands out so much and so often, folks think that is the entire group.

Kind of like how feminism gets a bad rap for the tumblr feminazis that want all men castrated when most just want to be paid equally for the same work and have more rights to their own bodies (ideally; modern feminism has drifted a bit from that, but that's for another thread).


There are some atheists who would give you the shirt off their back or donate to the ASPCA annually... And there are some who go on the internet and disrespect religious folks because G.I.F.T.
Some people are good folks to be around, some are a$$holes, most are in between; a person's religion (or lack thereof) is just as relevant as what hand they write with.
