Seriously, do the Sixers HAVE to give James Harden the Max?

Like I keep seeing all over the media and online how Sixers are in a really bad spot. Do you they have to give him the Max at 4 years $223 mill?

Can't they just give him $150 - $180 mill and call it a day? All 30 teams and GMs are seeing his talent decaying, you really think anyone else is going to give him the Max

Call Harden's bluff and tell him to go to Sacramento if you want the max :yeshrug:

Harden isn’t the problem. Miami defense is great at shutting down perimeter stars and Harden is finding seams in the defense to make the right shot.

But the 76ers don’t have any natural shooters. They got got inside out shooters who can hit assists that they receive from relatively short distances. They’re shooters built around Joel’s brand of playmaking and spacing, not Harden’s.

If Embiid comes back and plays average, you’d see Niang and Green suddenly hit shots that they were missing earlier in the series. I’m excited for the chess match but Heat in 3.

Funny thing is if they’d let him walk there’s a good chance Harden would come back with a couple All Star level seasons somewhere else.
