Especially for a tenured artist like NaS who has numerous albums and been in the game for like 20+ years lol
I think this is just his creative process
It takes time to pick the right beats, write, record, master, get stuff cleared etc
Most of these artists now don't spend time crafting anything they just go in the studio and say whatever most of it is nonsense and the beat usually carries those songs
That doesn't take alot of time but for an artist with depth in their lyrics is gonna be about creating something that will be appreciated for years not just something you hear a couple times then forget about it

I've seen Nas live 3 times and he always performed well. Tho all those times it was just him and a DJ. But I've seen some performances on youtube where he seems off. I only seen him in Europe tho, might be different if he was a huge entourage with him and people he knows in the US so he probably be smokin' and drinkin more while touring
