i think your selling some of these kids short,but i get what your saying to an extent. no, old pics of Jim Kelly tutoring Bernie Kosar aint exactly gonna burn up the recruiting trail. some of its in the archives for a reason

but when you got icons at every position group, thats a reference point to a recruit. theres a name in every group that resonates with their fathers/uncles etc. or still alot of current or recently retired guys that resonate with the recruit

and you cant build a program just name dropping, but letting the old heads mingle on the sideline is a tradition that had no reason to be stopped. it was a big part of the schools culture (including offseason workouts with vets) that fans feel needs to be brought back

63 isn't that old. Nick Saban is 63. Pete Carroll is 64.

Carroll's the second oldest coach in the NFL, Saban's like third or fourth oldest.

You don't see people running out and hiring senior citizens, a 63 year old is looking real to a bunch of 17-18 year old recruits

after week 1 this year miami had the 2nd most players on an nfl roster. that coupled with the tradition is a good sell to recruits even without some of the bells and whistles in facilities that other schools have. find a competent coach and miami can easily become a contender again. last year they were top 15 in the nation in yards per play on offense and defense and ended up with a losing record.

Miami...they was dope in the 80s, wasn't shyt for part of the 90s, had a cool 2-3 year run in the EARLY 2000s but haven't been shyt since.
