Those "old" guys helped put our program on the map,and having successful alumni from our program helps in recruiting...especially since we can't recruit based on being a powerhouse at this moment

Bingo!! Miami as a whole need to accept they will never be the dominate U again. Yes South Beach is a talent hot bed but too many other schools have better stuff to offer and players are not about to sit and wait to play like the old U players use to have to do. They wanna play from Day ONE

Yep.And it's even worse in this microwave social media generation. Nothing that happened more than 3-4 years ago means anything.

Unless a player is still in the NFL, like Peterson helped us to get Joe Mixon, then it doesn't matter to these kids how many title u won in the 80s and 90s
