dx11.1/2 might be putting a heavier burden on your CPU (although I thought it was supposed to do the opposite)

the point is BF4 should not be able to shut your PC down, regardless of bugs, win8, or whatever. that would most likely be your CPU overheating, or something with your PSU

that doesn't change anything I said. BF4 is one of the most 'hardware intensive' games out there. it's one of the few games that really takes full advantage of multicore CPU's. that is a great thing, but at the same time it means your CPU will run hotter than ever. throw in some dust and/or lack of ventilation (laptop), and it could easily shut down your computer

it is a game that will push almost all your hardware (CPU, GPU, PSU, memory) to it's limits, and maybe beyond that...

I bought mines just to watch TV and play games at the same time. It's okay but I do feel I paid too much for it.
