He's in my top 15. His horrid output over recent years slid him clear out of my top ten and I don't think he'll ever again crack my personal list. But in his prime Phantom Paragraph Punching Bag P was one of the illest MC's to ever grace a mic...

Prodigy is most def one of my favs, and is in my top 5. I mean damn, this guy has one of the illest deliveries and rap voices ever. He really came across as a grimy street dude, he in my opinion defines the grimy street rapper type. Some of the shyt he says is just straight up cold.

"Tryna live a full life before my time is through,
Clock's tickin, so I ain't got no time for you,
As I head outside amongst the rest of the animals,
Is where I feel relaxed and safe and I can stand still"

"Take a bite of this fruit, it's the knowledge of the good and evil man,
It's the Mobb epic, we stole tablets of destiny,
So that we may rise up to supremacy"

I could go on. The Infamous through Murda Muzik and some of his solo albums, Prodigy could do no wrong.

He's my favorite emcee of all time (my personal favorite). Look at my name :lolbron:

95-97 he was ascending. The chit he spit on Noyd's EP was amazing. :blessed:

He was one of the elite for sure and could do no wrong. He was electrifying and the Mobb at that time was something special. People forget how they used to have this "Gangstarr"esque aura of hip hop authenticity and real ness. Your favorite emcee was selling out at the time? Didn't matter. Preem's next beat would be amazing and you could count on the Mobb to drop some extra hard chit that would somehow cross over.

But as early as Murda Muzik he was starting to fall off. Sure he still had some brilliant moments on that album (Quiet Storm is one of his greatest performances ever), but the writing was on the wall.

At this point - he's a shell of his former self (not including this most recent track with Alc - which is a huge leap forward for him and could cause me to reevaluate what I'm about to say if the project as a whole turns out that way). He's largely uninteresting. His legacy declines with each release. We're lucky if he's top 25 at this point - if we're being objective.

thats a very good question...

P is definitely up there.....

The flow, the lyrics, and his whole mindset was something unique....

I just cant explain it....

He definitely fell off though...HNIC 3 was no good at all....

What hurts P imo is when your the type of rapper he is,once you start "eating"that energy and hunger goes away....thats why he fell off...

He's not a smooth finesse "fly nikka" mc in the vein of a cam,or az who can still keep the same content and depth, but their overall style keeps them relevant...

this is what I mean...AZ/Cam/Ghostface....these nikkas can pull off these types of records...Prodigy is a hell no no

Once P started losing that "QB Street Synergy" his music started going in decline

Return of the Mac was cool, but I feel P didnt do some of those beats proper justice...

P is the type of rapper where less is more as far as production...Alc's sound isnt as sparse as Havoc and for some mc's that becomes an issue

Don't know where I'd rank him as an emcee, but he's up there. From 95 - 2000 he dropped some of the dopest verses in rap. He's also top 3 voices in rap. I'm glad the music I've heard from P of late has been quality as well :ehh: :salute:

late 20s I guess. He used to be very dope, but he's been average-to-wack more than half of his career (since 2001).

In my opinion,

When it comes to style, the only rapper I rank higher than Prodigy is 2Pac...

Prodigy just had that believable cold metallic flow and cadence, and dude just had a way of putting words together than was way to ill...

P's run from 94-2000 was great.
He was a complete, and one of the most feared mc's.

3. Ghostface
4. Rakim
5. Black Thought
6. :scusthov:
