I'm on the Westside- 21st & McKinley. On paper Im actually a Gary resident, I bought my house in that $1 house program they got and you are supposed to be a Gary resident to be able to get into the program I got some family that works for the city so they kinda look the other way. But I'm up there at least once a month. I fukk with Gary, that place got a ton of potential. They got another one of those $1 homes out in Miller that actually is pretty nice I'm trying to talk my girl into buying.

HA! I actually used to live in Druid Hills, right on Briarcliff about a block north of that Whole Foods. There is a decent number Black folks in that area in the apartment complex's. shyt the Park @ Briarcliff complex actually is halfway sketch, you'd be surprised actually. But overall that area is mostly Jews and Asians.

Thinking an anecdote/experience or two represent millions of African Americans in North Carolina.... ..... yall need to stop ........... ........ I lived there for 22 years of my life, and I can tell you this ridiculous characterization has so many holes in it......

Take race out of this discussion for a second.................................ok..................so people are people.....what some people call tolerance others cause frailty.

Now add race back to the discussion.....there are black folks in NC that have and still are dealing with the intricacies of racism whether overt or low key in many different ways. There are black people in high positions fighting for the plight of black folks, and they may not necessarily curse or punch somebody in the face to get their point across. There are black folks trying to better themselves on all levels. Yet, in the same breath there are black folks in NC that ain't doing shiit to empower themselves, or for that matter have been dealt a bad hand, that they having difficulty creating a better hand for themselves

If you got to physically and verbally upset every time you thought you were being discriminated against ...........As black folks, we are always wondering if non-blacks act a certain way cause of our skin color. Its a mentality that's hard to shake, because the history is still pretty vivid and we are not that far removed from the Civil Rights era....Nonetheless, You have to pick and choose your battles is what I'm saying.

A white woman gives you a nasty look at restaurant, do you snap on her or just keep it moving? There are levels to this shiit... ...the focus IMHO should be building economic empowerment and educational attainment to build our own stuff. Then again, that should be the plan for the African American community in general...

at the generalization for a single state, as if it is not a microcosm of the entire country.

this happened at milbrook HS which is in a Middle class part of Raleigh, which admittedly has lots of New black action
And the funny part about it is that MOST of them are from Outta state (esp the East Coast)

I doubt this would've happened in Durham or even in the Boro or Winston Salem. They dont play out there

there are a lot of complacent ass nikkas in G'boro though throughout the state really. They're not c00ns to me, they just don't seem to have the drive to better their situation. Plenty of real folks out here though.

All jokes aside, Im pretty surprised that this happened in Milbrook HS esp considering how diverse and Seemingly integrated the school is.

most kids around that area don't seem to have that "tenacity" or "roughness" that a lot of inner-city kids have, (which is not necessarily a good-or bad thing. Its just the way it is)

I can't speak on NC Blacks, but it IS a widespread and widely shared opinion that southern blacks c00n harder and are more allowing of white folks' bullshyt than blacks from any other prominent black areas in this country.
I've seen it with my own eyes, but I honestly can't say that i've seen it so much that it's something to get hyped up over.

Southern Blacks could do better yes. But so could all of us

I used to think that too until I moved down south and realized it wasn't true. It all stems from elitism within the black community where those blacks that left the south look down on the ones that stayed. If you wanna throw the c00n label around the real c00ns are the ones that left and still look down on the blacks that stayed.
