anytime one rapper says somethin negative about another rappper, or has a difference of opinion noawadays, fans(and even djs) from all ova da world start getting emotional and start crying about record sales, publicity stunts, and etc:comeon:

i recall rae and ghost dissing biggie for copying nas album cover even though it had ABSOUTELY nothin to do with them. pretty much did it cause they felt like it. no one complained, it was fair game

prodigy dissed def squad for dat space shyt for no reason
fair game

biggie called e-40 wack for no reason (almost got merked for it tho:guilty:) and no one cared

eminem, puffy and mase, ja rule, nelly, jay-z (back in early 2000's)etc have all be dissed by other rappers without being provoked. usually, if corny pop bullshyt is gettin light and da true essence of it is gettin ignored, someone steps up and says somethin

but nowadays
if common disses drake, he just wants attention, publicity stunt
shyne says he dont like a album dat was overhyped to him (can yall honestly tell me you ppls have never gassed you up about about a certain album and when you heard it, u were disappointed?) hes a hater wants attention.

saigon disses 2 chains for rappin bout nonsense, ohhh his album sales are down hes doin it for a buzz

fans meanwhile shyt on rappers all day and nothing is wrong with it:childplease:

if one rapper thinks another rapper is wack, is he just supposed to keep quiet bout it or somethin:childplease:

Times change man...I know how u feel :smh:....nikkas gotta go to twitter now to drop subliminal tweets..and then back track on them like "Naw I wasn't talking about that person..."

Or nikkas leaving sub diss raps where its CLEARLY about a specific person (Pusha T to YMCMB) and then do interviews saying "naw it's not about that person :childplease:"...but when you say the persons name (Weezy's diss and Common's diss)....you just go "Your not worth it...".....like really? :mindblown:

Its always been like that. We just have the internet now to vocalize what has been happening in the street since hiphop began. There was a time where if you said Nas was wack in an urban area where nas was favored, people would question your character and possibly, if they didnt respect your character, they might snuff you. :whoo: Its so demonic, friends.

fans dont want to just be fans, they want to jump on bandwagons and go to war with the other artists fans. this is all a part of that. reasoning for another dude, hating the other artists, etc. internet helped give voice to people who want to be more live than they are.

if the internet and twitter and all this sh!t was around back then then you would have saw the same antics..

Biggie Smalls @NotoriousBIG 36m
@RaekwonWu come to brooklyn you beaver face dusthead. f*ck the purple tape, i'll have them boys puttin up yellow tape around the crime scene!

then the beef would be trending, and everyone would get involved, etc...

most of the fukkery right now can all be attributed to the net if you really break it down to its roots

puff wouldnt do that. he never makes public threats. he would be taking instragram pics with biggie and charlie baltimore splashing champagne on hoes talking about all the money and hits they got. making sure everyone on bad boy does the same

but I could see biggie shooting subiminals through twitter.

Once it became big business, the competitive and critical aspects of the culture were abandoned because they are "counter-productive" to that agenda. Nowadays its all PR-related, and gag-orders etc

To speak your mind and share your opinion on someone who you think is A) outright wack, B) fake or C) misrepresenting/exploiting,....you are messing with not only with that persons pockets, but the entire labels pockets and all of their advertisers. They wont let that happen.

Like McNulty said on The Wire "...everybody stays friends. Everybody gets paid. And everybody's got a fukking future"

When rap beef went ott after 50 cent blew up & it became a played out gimmick. Have you seen some of the pathetic sh!t in the 'Beef' series? Embarrassing for hiphop, glad it's no longer a staple of the culture.

When I love my haters got popular around the mid 2000's. After that there was no more criticism or constructive criticism, just why he hating. Tell that nikka to worry about his own...(money, bytch, plate, etc)
