Seriously, Why Is There an NBA Team in Atlanta?

Im not saying I got hopes for anything. Just responding to the typical ATL sports haters not giving our teams respect. Talking heads were running their mouth 2 months ago we wouldn't even make the playoffs.

Atlanta fans deserve credit for dealing w/ some of the worst owners in America.

Considering all the women and clubs and activities to participate in you would think it would be a destination spot for players. One day they are bound to get that star though that makes them a place that free agents want to go too.

I feel you but the Hawks have at least been playoff contenders the past decade basically. That means that they should at least have a solid loyal fan base.

The base is there, its just not showing up to games. Part of it is that the Hawks hit a ceiling with Josh Smith/Joe Johnson that ppl knew was going no where.

But another part of it is that we had a racist ownership group who was actively trying to recruit more old whites (who don't live in the City) instead of focusing on the NBA's base (18-35 yo white/black young professionals). Marketing a mediocre team to a group of ppl who aren't traditional basketball fans isn't going to help attendance.
