My fav part was Mook’s homeboy reacting to one of Serious’ bars saying “he said that shyt already..” and Serious rebuttled that shyt right on the spot like “yea I said it already, but Mookie its the truth, u do all this rappin in the streets, but what about the BOOTH??..”
Killed him!. Lol

And the people with Mook was trying HARD to make Mook win too. shyt is one of the precursors to cats like Tubesteak and Supa Hot making they parody battle videos. They even gave Mook more time in his rounds.

Ehh, yeah it was a body...but truth be told Jin was handicapped by not being able to rebuttal with his own race jokes :manny:

People always say this but up to that point, Jin had rebuttled racist jokes while battling in front of mostly black crowds his entire career. He just couldn't do it well against Serius.

But yeah, this battle destroyed his confidence.

He got body bagged by Iron Solomon shortly after, and Solomon didn't even use any Chinese jokes

Man those opening bars from Iron were fire

"I ain't gonna rap bout your background and origin,
I'ma rap bout the black cloud that's wrapped round your aura, Jin
Cuz when it rains it starts pouring Jin, I'ma send you home poorer Jin
Win the money, buy the bar and start pouring gin, We'll all take shots of gin
Then I'll take shots at Jin, get a blade and start ox'ing Jin, take away his oxygen!"

Then Jin starts making face expressions like it's the worst thing he ever heard...and proceeds to drop 3 wack ass rounds :dead:

Jin was still stuck on the "I only freestyle and you use writtens" steeze lol. Truth be told, Jin getting body bagged back to back really marked a shift in battle rap when you saw less off the top freestylers and it became more acceptable to come up with writtens. Off the top freestylers didn't wanna get embarrassed like Jin did

Thing with Jin though is it wasn't purely off the top either. Sometimes he'd have generic bars and just add his opponent's name. His problem is he was winging it against inferior opponents for years and then ran into a monster with Serius

His battles against Jin and Mook are more well known but this has always been my favorite Serius battle

This was the first time I ever heard anyone use the "multiple choice" technique and his last round when he's talking about Ace in jail was hilarious

THE ISSUE WAS SERIUS
HAD NO PROBLEM GOING OFF THE DOME
WHICH MADE IT WORSE.

Oh no doubt. Jin used to be dropping bunch of pre-writtens that could be applied to anyone, and slip a few simple lines to make him sound like he's all freestyling. That shyt worked in 106 and park and well ended pretty quick against serious opponents.

Yup, I'll always give credit to Jin though for helping to popularize battle rap with his 106 & Park run. Even though he was going up against bums that was still a legendary run.

He also had one of the best off the top moments I've ever seen in his battle against Shells

This whole thread is making me nostalgic for Fight Klub, despite International P being annoying af lol
