Actually that's exactly what should happen. A state shouldn't be able to dictate what another state does in their borders. This isn't applicable to what we are talking about.

Federal law Trump's state law. Period dot. The end. If the states tried suing the federal government they would lose. The only way to legally win is to change the law. But we all know that's not happening anytime soon.
what about the court of public opinion :sas1:

i think 60 percent of the country supports legalization. its a terrible move to go after these states

and fukk all that. what about the sheer resources and manpower it would take to shut down legal weed in JUST colorado :what: how the fukk are you sitting there with a straight face repeating this bullshyt?

:russ:The court of public opinion doesn't mean shyt. Public opinion is also easily swayed by propaganda and idenity politics. Take Comey firing for example. I can't find the chart but 30 percent of Republicans believed Comey should be fired before his firing. After his firing it was 60. :lolbron:

If they actually enforce these laws and people will fall in like they always have. By the time the propaganda train is done that 60 gonna look a lot like 30. And These dudes been making terrible moves what's one more to the pile.

Because I have seen the resources of the Federal government and they impressive. Also how many police departments do you think get federal funding or have government contracts. For them it's just one more quota to fill.

Btw, I love how people think that Conservatives and that idiot Rand Paul all of a sudden actually gives a damn about Black people.

Here are some of Rand Paul's greatest hits:

When he admit that he doesn't fully support the Civil Rights Act of 1964 and wouldn't intervene if Martin Luther King Jr. was denied service at a Woolworths:

"I would not go to that Woolworth’s, and I would stand up in my community and say it’s abhorrent. um… But the hard part, and this is the hard part about believing in freedom is, if you believe in the First Amendment, for example, you to, for example– most good defenders will believe in abhorrent groups standing up and saying awful things, and we’re here at the bastion of newspaperdom (sic) and I’m sure you believe in the First Amendment, so I’m sure you understand people can say bad things. It’s the same way with other behaviors. In a free society we will tolerate boorish people who have abhorrent behavior, but if we’re civilized people we publicly criticize that and don’t belong to those groups or associate with those people."

When he blamed Eric Garner’s death on New York City's cigarette tax:

“I think it is important to know that some politician put a tax of $5.85 on a pack of cigarettes so that driven cigarettes underground by making them so expensive. But then some politician also had to direct the police say, ‘hey we want you arresting people for selling a loose cigarette.’ For someone to die over breaking that law, there is really no excuse for it. But I do blame the politicians. We put our police in a difficult situation with bad laws.”

When he responded to Barack Obama's State of the Union:

"We are the party that adheres to the Constitution. We will not let the liberals tread on the Second Amendment! We will fight to defend the entire Bill of Rights. We will stand up against excessive government power wherever we see it. We cannot and will not allow any President to act as if he were a king. We will not let any President use executive orders to impinge on the Second Amendment." (Oddly enough all the shyt that Randy boy said applies to Trump's bullshyt right now, but old Randy ain't standing up).

I know a few people who got the safety valve on federal cases where they had minor roles, and served like 3 years, on a drug trafficking indictment, under these new guidelines, they would have done 8-10 easy.

He sounds like @DEAD7 or the Members of the Coli #ANTIPC crowd. :pachaha:
:russ:

He is only concerned about White people. He knows full well what this means for the White people in Appalachia.

Sessions announcement is not anything new, but how AG's pursue matters is a renewal of old policies. Secondly, no Conservative organization or politicians gives a shyt about Black people. In fact the war on drugs was created by the Conservatives against Black people and those Conservatives didn't give a shyt then about any mandatory minimum sentences against Black people. The issues that has bothered Conservatives over the last few years is that White people have gotten caught more and more in the net of mandatory minimum sentences due to the ongoing opiod epidemic, which is why there was a push to change the law. If the law would just impact Black people then Conservative organizations still would not give a shyt.
It's not really so much of what he's concerned about. He's advocating a change in laws that will disproportionately help out black people. He's fully aware of this. But presses on and doesn't sell it as anything else. There are plenty of conservatives who would not do the same. :manny:

You probably shouldn't come into a thread in the middle of it, without reading the background leading up to comments. Rand Paul was actually part of a larger conversation of why Conservative Republicans are actually against the guidelines. Secondly, the very Conservative Koch Network has also been very vocal about the need for sentencing reforms and they actually worked with the Obama administration to get that done, before then Senator Session derailed it.
Koch Network Making Another Push for Criminal-Justice Reform

At the end of the day Rand Paul and the larger conservative movement does not give a shyt that young Black men were being caught in the net. It is the White people getting caught that they are against. If Sessions could assure those conservatives that he would only apply the guidelines against Black and Hispanic people then Rand Paul and those other Conservatives would drop their opposition today.

Sessions is about to come down hard on the Mexican cartels trafficking in heroin into the suburbs.
Atty. Gen. Sessions says lax immigration enforcement is enabling gangs like MS-13

The Comey firing was all Jeff Sessions in my opinion. Sessions wants to move forward on conservative agenda. He needed an FBI chief who would carry out his aims, (drug war, immigration, etc.). Whoever the new FBI chief is will be someone who falls in line with what Session wants.

Comey firing shows Sessions’ growing clout
Comey firing shows Sessions’ growing clout
“Jeff Sessions is truly the star of this show,” said Chuck Cooper, a Supreme Court litigator and longtime friend. “In all of the areas within the Justice Department’s jurisdiction, Jeff is moving in precisely the way that Trump had essentially promised his supporters that his administration would move — whether you’re talking about law and order, immigration, judicial selection, or any of the other big-ticket items that come under the attorney general’s realm.”
