As someone who didn't grow up out west, it feels like everybody just adopted the E-40 type style of just getting your bars off, regardless of what the beat's doing.

But I'd also say it's not a coincidence that most of the acts you see with that style mostly have the same subject matter. Most of these brehs aren't really concerned with rapping as much as they are on just saying what they think is the hardest shyt.
