It was a crystal clear statement i thought. Steph and Klay are the #2 and #3 options when KD is there instead of 1 and 2. KD can play in the offense or go iso mode and get buckets all night long. Warriors are better with KD but the rest of them are probably easier to guard when he's there since the players and ball doesn't move as much.

Steph is not easier to guard if KD playing or not. This misconception that Durant is holding back Steph or Klay is a myth. Steph was the leading scorer in the team in the regular season and was averaging 33 points a game in the inception of the season before he got injured. Klay averaged his career high in scoring in the past three seasons while playing with Durant and the Warriors are still the best passing team in the league.

Either way he has a reason to leave

If warriors lose they break up and KD has no blame in the loss. And Warriors kind of have an excuse/allibi

If warriors win without him then Durant can say “they don’t need him” or the team is too good with him and move on to a team that does.

His “injury” was the first step in his departure

I'm just thinking his sensitivity might make him want to prove nikkas wrong by coming back and tryna surpass the wins record and win a title. You can't tell with dude

Golden State was already one of the best teams ever without KD. They got KD solely because the Cavs were able to beat them in a brawl match and as good as Steph is, he isn't good enough to trade buckets with LeBron or score on LeBron when he's playing clamp down defense on him. So they went and got the 2nd best SF in the league to fix that.

when was Bron defending Steph in those series. He had that one block but I recall Steph crossing the shyt out of him multiple times in subsequent matchups.

its not a knock on KD but they might be a better team without him. why is that some blasphemy to say? this isnt a typical best player on the team gets hurt, they have another top 5 player, they already won a title without him, they may actually play better without him which is essentially the same thing as being better without him. it doesnt mean he isnt individually the best player on the team.

I’m a dubs fan and I’ve said this... Dubs move a bit slower when moving off ball with KD playing.. make no mistake the ball doesn’t stick but 9/10 when the ball hoping around even ends up back in KDs hands for a easy bucket and also the offense don’t run through Steph

Now when KD not playing y’all see OG dubs basketball.. It’s their foundation that’s why they don’t miss a beat when KD is out..

But make no mistake KD fits GS system.. as an opposing team you better be scared when KD is out because you gotta team with another elite their back court..

they are definitely better with KD and more dominant, but they become more predictable and move slower. I will always like OG style of play. Also more often than not when he is out there, Steph and Klay dont play as well a lot of time because its less shots and its harder to get in their rhythm sometimes.
