Most people didn't know slick rick was from the UK till they got older though...:manny:...and he raps totally different than that grime crap...

For the record I don't rate grime either. Its too limited

But if people can get past the accents we have talented rappers spitting actual authentic street/life shyt..no ducktales, actual raw first hand experience fire lyric

I can say this, because of Drake promoting your country's scene the past few years, Americans have been at least now somewhat aware and curious of what's going on in your area. But that doesn't mean we actually check for your music like that. The accent just sounds too weird when you guys rap.

The UK Drill movement and that UK Afrobeat shyt recently both caught my ears recently, but I can also see why Americans would not quite respond well to them from the accents to the unusual Slang used. But i fukk with some of yall artists like AJ Tracey, Dave, J Hus.

It's just a matter of Americans just don't really pay listen to anything going on overseas period, just isolationism. We're just the cultural center of the world.

You guys just need the right artist that appeals to US tastes, but it may sacrifice them selling out away from their British style somewhat(ex. Stefflon Don)

your accents are fine, but most rap fans from the US prolly arent super into hearing british accents when rapping

maybe a twinge of it like slick rick

but unless you got some fire joints, i dont see many UK rappers crossing the pond with mainstream success

indie success, sure, but we had The Streets before and dizzy rascal and others

i thought if anyone would make it it woulda been stormzy, and theres still hope for the breh. maybe dave too, i fux with both of their music heavy

whatever happened to that dude potter payper? and does nines still make music? nines was nice

edit: found this, i guess its a wrap for potter:huhldup:

I like a few of the older cats like Roots Manuva and Wiley. I was a big fan of Ms Dynamite's album but her rap style was more like dancehall

The top UK lyricists are better than at least 95% of current US rappers

Y'all accents don't sound "corny" to me it's moreso I don't understand what y'all be saying

Crazy how we speak the same language but kinda don't at the same time

But yea let go of the whole "we get it poppin in the streets too" shyt and y'all good money :ehh:
