I think sex sell in movies, tv, and other industries like porn, only fans, instagram but not in music. You at least must have some talent or at least have popular songs to have a good career in music. A person looks can open up opportunities for a artist outside of music but in music you got to have at least have some popular songs. Summer actually make good music so that is why she is successful. Even though she is a former stripper her image was actually way tamer when she first blew up. By the time she establish her fanbase then she changed her image. I actually liked Coi album but it flopped so sex didn't help her sell albums. Chloe image also didn't help her sell any albums. It mostly hurt her. Normandi not releasing an album is what stifling her career. Most of her most popular songs were released before she changed her image.

Back in the 90's and early 2000's singers like Brandy, Monica, Mariah, Aaliyah, Alicia Keys, who didn't have the sexy, explicit image were selling very well. Beyoncé image really didn't change until she went solo. And she had a steady gradual change unlike artist of today who come right out the gate with the Rated R image. Janet image was explicit for her time but she also had great songs and a establish fanbase. Most of the artist of today come out the gate with the Rated R image before they have a hit and a establish fanbase.

If you're selling sex today, you're competing against ig models, onlyfans girls, some lewd twitch streamers, etc. The market is so saturated there really isn't a sex symbol in this generation. Plus with the body positivity movement a lot of women (who are usually these girls main fanbase) are prone to be jealous and hate rather than financially support.
