If it was up to you, would you choose to completely eradicate sexism in this world if it also meant giving up sex?

Women would be financially, politically, and socially equal with men, but men and women could no longer have sex with one another.

On the other hand, you could choose to live in a world where sexism will always exist and patriarchy will always thrive. There's no hope for change in that area so women will never be on equal footing with men, but men and women could have as much sex as they wanted.

Which would you pick?

Also, if you pick a world without sexism and sex, that wouldn't be the end of humanity. Let's say a test tube baby could be harvested from your DNA so you wouldn't need to pass on your genes in the traditional way.

Explain your choice.

patriarchy is not synonymous to the existence of sexism. You need to get out more.

:comeon:

Stfu. Patriarchal societies breed the envoronments that lead to women being disadvantaged. The question is obviously dealing with a systemic form of sexism. Never said patriarchy and sexism were synonymous, but they damn sure aren't mutually exclusive

You're overthinking it. You just gotta choose one or the other. What would you sacrifice if it came down to it? :sas1:

:heh: fukk no. I don't even think sexism is really that big of a deal at all in modern American society. I know that the 24 hour news networks, Huffington Post, Buzzfeed, and Upworthy like to do their sloganeering about it because making people feel like victims increases viewership and ratings, but yeah. I feel like I can have sex and not worry about sexism now.

I dunno, bruh. People lose their minds without it. Plus sexism is not a problem in this country, really.

But if you picked "no sex, no sexism", not only would it end in the US, it would also end the sexism against women worldwide, including in other countries where they have it worse.

Tempting as that sounds, I'm wondering if that wouldn't open up some other crazy can of worms down the line that could wind up being more dangerous. That's one of the reasons why this question doesn't really seem realistic to me to begin with. I just don't see this scenario being relevant, ever.
