How are women at a disadvantage in a Patriarchal societies?

"Historically, patriarchy operates through the disproportionate (sometimes exclusive) conferring of leadership status (and formal titles indicating that status) on men, a tradition characterised by casting all women as naturally unsuited to lead men, no matter what talents and expertise they might possess (unless there are exceptional circumstances resulting from intersections with other social hierarchies conferring high status that gives rare women political authority e.g. the royal lineage of Elizabeth I, or the divine claim to authority of Joan of Arc). This view of women normalises the restriction of women’s opportunities and choices throughout the whole of society via strict gender expectations which constrain individualist expressions."

Tempting as that sounds, I'm wondering if that wouldn't open up some other crazy can of worms down the line that could wind up being more dangerous. That's one of the reasons why this question doesn't really seem realistic to me to begin with. I just don't see this scenario being relevant, ever.

It's not realistic.

It's like one of those "if you had to push a button and kill someone for a million dollars" questions.

I'd rather let a woman speak for why patriarchal societies are disadvantageous. Kinda like I'd rather hear a black person speak on why white supremacy is flawed.

bruh, what you copy and pasted didnt make sense or attack any the real problems w/patriarchy in the US.

i want to know YOUR problem with patriarchy, and how you think women are disadvanged by it in the US.

also note there are more women in this country than men. so if they really want men out of power, they can make it happen.

That's not what this thread is about.

Many women accuse patriarchal society of breeding sexism. So I used elimination of the patriarchy in connection with the hypothetical end of sexism, spawning a more egalitarian society.

But the question is not about patriarchy. It's about whether or not you'd be willing to sacrifice sex for a world without sexism .

can you prove it with your own thoughts? if argue patriarchy breeds gentlemen that feel a strong desire to protect their women from the harshness of the world.

once women do away with patriarchal values, they'll have a complete new list of complaints. the main one being we're not "real men" anymore.
