Is anybody else gonna watch this tomorrow? I remember listening to the books on audible and I can't remember most of the plot to be honest. I do remember the antagonist being very charismatic one of the more interesting ones in a YA novel. I remember something about them chasing a magical stag. I remember the main girl show out light from her hands. I also remember the winner of the love triangle wasn't my pick.

Never heard of it. What's it about?

It's a YA novel series that Netflix is turning into a show. One of those chosen one stories about a darkness swallowing the world and the protagonist has the ability to stop it. It was quality but I listened to it back when it came out in 2013 and I haven't revisited it. Probably works out for me. I guess it can kinda be likened to a Harry Potterish type story.

I also heard they worked Six of Crows into this and I've yet to read or listen to that. That's a heist novel set in the same world.

I am. I was going to read the books at one point (heard good things about Six Of Crows) but since the show is coming out and I don't like having a backlog of books, I changed my mind and settled for the show.

Mal sucks as a character. He suffers from Edward Cullen syndrome. By that I mean his entire characterization any time he appears is his obsession with Alina. He doesn’t seem like a real person past his interest in her.

That final episode was the best of the series. I had mid expectations for this show and it more than exceeded them.

I haven’t gotten past episode 4 but the books are like if Game of Thrones, Ocean’s 11 and X Men had a baby. Hopefully Netflix does right by the series and does like five seasons because it has potential to be their first big original show.

I think the show probably gets 3 seasons given the 3 books. Six of Crows should get its own spinoff. I think I’m gonna read Six of Crows and King of Scars. I been sitting on them for a while.
