real talk, how are you guys liking shadowplay?
its just a built in fraps... no?
there's almost no performance hit with ShadowPlay. recording with fraps is usually a huge performance hit. although like most of these situations, it's not magic, and fraps records higher quality video
there's also more feature rich programs, like dxtory, that similarly record with almost no performance hit. most people that are serious about recording games are sticking with that for now, because it allows them to do PiP, commentary, etc
the cool thing about ShadowPlay is the option to have it constantly record your last ~10min of gameplay, and then you can save it with the press of a button. that's really handy for capturing crazy things that happened, even when you weren't planning on recording. you can also record traditionally with it, by pressing a button to start and stop recording. it's still in beta, and hopefully will get more features in the future. I think I heard it will get Twitch integration. they need to release something along with this so people can at least crop, and do some simple editing
