Many, not all, but MANY of the die hard "bernie or bust" types just want to weaken the Democratic Party. They don't actually care if the GOP wins bc many of them are financially comfortable either way. I live in Chicago and we are FULL of these mfers. I do business with a guy that is one of the worst examples of this. Wants to claim/identify as a progressive leftist etc., railing against the 1% meanwhile he's only ever "worked" for his father's large property management/real estate investing company. Basically an office manager but lives in the heart of logan square in a 2 flat w/ basement converted to a single family home.

Nice personal anecdote but I don't think it is accurate to generalize a whole group of people by your personal experience with one of them. Most Progressives are Democrats so no they want to change the party not 'weaken' it. The Dems as currently operating lose to Republicans more often than not and most Centrists are comfortable either way as well. Why does financial status matter anyway?
