Because he's been the best player on a 1-seed two years consecutively with nice game. And this season was full of content saying he was having a historic 2-guard season...

I gave him grace last year. Its Year 7 now and if he allegedly had an All-Time 2-guard year, its time to see it vs a real opponent in the postseason...

And you're a statistician, huh? 🤣

I know what his statline is. Tell me where his impact was truly felt? This mf is "one of the guys" out there...

i don't think there has ever been a point guard led team running pick and roll to a championship, so no matter what you see in the regular season from a guard isn't real because that's not how they'll be guarded or who they'll be guarded by in the playoffs.

And also didn't you make the thread about people hyping up this as one of the all time guard seasons just so you could make this thread later when he flamed out :pachaha:

You a smart hater. I like that.

Trolling aside…

I’ve yet to see how OKC won The Clippers trade

The objective is The Finals…not 60 win seasons
The objective is a championship…not MVPs

The Clippers mortgaged their future for a chance at June. They haven’t gotten there and neither has The Thunder

Everyone just conceded it would happen for them but there’s definitely a reality they get bounced by Denver

This team isn’t “deep”. It’s just guys that typically do their job well. There’s a difference.

This game was also the first time Jalen Williams showed up in a meaningful game ever

If Giannis gets traded I think he is going to call the shot, it won't be the bucks sending him to the place that has the most to offer. And I think if Giannis wants to leave, he will want to go to a big market and get that big market treatment.
He’ll go to the Lakers for Rui straight up.

You’re not wrong but OKC should be the blue print for small market teams that aren’t huge free agent destinations.

Presti knows how to build a competitive team through the draft and stockpiling young talent. Whether he can build a championship team is yet to be seen.

This was a REAL bad showin for him. REAL REAL bad. JDubb was cookin should been a light 40 piece but SGA froze him out and kept brickin. I think they said he missed 8 straight shots most in OT
He took no shots in OT breh. He had a lot of iso misses late in the 4th which some of those plays could have went to J.Williams. But regardless of who the ball had gone to Nuggets packed the paint because OKC couldn't shoot the 3.

Bad thread. He was the best player in that Dallas series last year but nobody came along for the ride.

In game one, he was awesome and the rest of the team shyt the bed. He had 13 in the 4th on 4-7 shooting and the rest of the team was 4-16.

One bad game tonight does not define his legacy. It was not a good look when he was grifting for a foul on their final possession of regulation instead of just trying to make a shot though.

I agree murk in that, I don't believe in Shooting Guards carrying a squad in 2025. They simply can't physically affect a game like a Wing or Big can.

With that said, one of OKC's problem is they have too many nikkas who don't know what to do in a tight game. If Shai doesn't have it, nobody steps up.

Look at Denver, AG and Murray weren't afraid to take all the shots in the 4th and OT, and it paid off tonight.
There’s been literally 2 -shooting Guards in history who could carry their teams to multiple championships. SGAs numbers look all time great, but there’s no way you watch him play and think he’s on that level.

What you talking about Year 7. He really started to become the guy in year 4. Last season was sort of the first season where the expectations for OKC were elevated to get something done in the playoffs. They had a bad series against the Mavs but everyone chugged it to them being a young and inexperienced team. They brought in Caruso as a veteran presence. Unfortunately the Thunder still don't have the confidence late in tight games but this thread is way too early this series could just as easily be 2 - 1 for the Thunder. They beat them by damn nearly 50 points last game.

Too early. With Shai, this is essentially his first really bad playoff game in 2 years, spanning roughly 17 games. He's been mostly if not consistently great in the other 16. As a result, this will be the first time where he'll face real scrutiny. Which is different than other stars who have shyt the bed with individual performances multiple times.

So it more-so depends on how he responds from game 4 onward, and ultimately if OKC wins. Remember, Steph had to deal with allegations of not being that guy up until 3 years ago, despite having 3 rings prior to 2022.
