This is pretty indefensible. Bad fit for Shaka, and Texas doesn’t attract enough top tier talent. It’s a football school through and through.

His next job should be at a smaller, basketball crazy school.
A lie, from Rick Barnes to Shaka, they've all signed plenty of elite talent. Just look at the recruiting classes he's signed since he took over in 2015(he was able to keep all the signees once he took over in 2015) and where they rank nationally and in the Big 12. He's been a flop

Texas attracts plenty of talent breh Shaka and his staff just hasn't been developing them.

I'll never understand why he didn't implement his "Havoc" defense there.

Because UT doesn't play in a mid major conference breh. Competent HS teams can easily break a press what do you think would happen playing against Big 12 competition.

Bob Huggins does fine with his pressing style :upsetfavre:. Hell, even Mike Anderson is adequate.

It just doesn't make sense to me that Shaka would get a gig like Texas playing a particular way and then completely abandon it when he has greater access to top tier athletes. It makes less sense now that he's on the hot seat and still doesn't take a swing at it. What's he have to lose at this point?

Another embarrassing 30 pt in-conference loss. This guys is in over his head. Entire athletic department is trash right now outside of golf/swimming.

he should have looked at guys like mark few, greg mcdermott, gregg marshall , Bob McKillop and just stayed at vcu. This dude hasn't won a ncaa march madness game in nearly a decade :heh:

Or UT alum Chris Beard. The problem is the equally incompetent previous AD, Steve Patterson, gave Shaka a fully guaranteed 7 yr contract and then an extension until 2023 after his first season. That's why they brought him back this year, buyout was too steep.
