I've actually taken the time to listen to her first major successful studio albums when she broke out in the late 1990's in Latin America (around 1995), and she was great back then.
But over time, she lost her ability to use her vocals appropriately, and she started taking so long to release albums (which is why she pops up every 4 years and then disappears after the FIFA world cup), so it causes her to misread the market and produce a half-baked album that ends up being really mediocre in comparison to her older work. I still like it, but it's not as good as it should be.

Oh yeah, and she's hot too btw.
