I mean seriously what is wrong with just going back to equal odds for all non playoff teams? The odds shyt is the problem and defeats the purpose that the lottery is supposed to serve.

Draft picks determined by strength of schedule wins for all non playoff teams

no.1 will not curb tanking though i like lottery drawing for all 18 picks. the other problem with no.1 is while 11-18 are in the lottery theres more incentive for some of those teams to get to the bottom 10 and not even make the play-in which is a big problem we already have. no.2 has some good aspects like a minimum win total and involving more teams in the lottery, but youre still rewarded for losing now over two seasons and with only 4 picks actually drawn from the lottery thats too similar to the current system. no.3 is garbage as well, the 5 worst teams have the same odds then descending odds for the other 13 teams. no.3 is probably the best system to not incentivize teams to miss the playoffs but its marginal improvement. i'd probably pick no.3, but they all suck.

the problem with all of these is they dont go far enough which is what i expected but how do they think any of these will prevent teams from purposely losing games because none of them do. its like they had different good ideas and instead of using them to create the best system divided all the good ideas into different systems that clearly wont work.

I honestly don’t see an issue with how the lottery is set up now. The worst team hasn’t gotten the top pick in about 5 years. Teams choose to tank but don’t get the results they want.
Teams like Utah are pulling starters in close games for the entire 4th quarter and gambling companies don't like that.

They can. We aint talking 50 wins here.. we talking winning 37% of your games. You don't need a whole lot to do that.

If you make that the rule watch how many teams magically win 30. Its similar to the 65 game rule. Before the rule "Kawhi's body just wont let him play". After the rule "Board man playin" :russ:

Somebody has to suck. Naturally if we’re going to have teams that lose less than 30 games, we’re going to have teams that win less than 30

shyt look at New Orleans. They don’t even own their pick and have zero incentive to lose games, and they still won’t reach 30 wins

Where is Brooklyn getting 13 extra wins from with that roster?

The issue is the gambling companies are pissed about tanking teams messing up parlays and over/unders, and have been putting pressure on the league

And since the league is so in bed with them that the CEO of FanDuel might as well be running the NBA, that’s why they’re about to overcorrect on this “reform” and create a whole new issue

Draftkings moving like the Gambinos

is there more incentive to making the playoffs today or potentially jumping up in the lottery to add someone who can keep you in the playoffs for most of the next decade?

the only teams who wouldn't make that move are teams who a) owe someone a pick or b) have their core set up and wanna get their guys playoff experience even if it's an ass kicking by the #1 /#2 seed. Portland Trail Blazers? Go for it. Golden State Warriors? think of the bigger picture.

and not for nothing, OKC used to have decent first halves of seasons and then send everyone home and shut everyone down. That's why NBA people would be pissed at how they did it because unlike other teams they probably coulda fought for a spot if they wanted to.
I get that. I dont think its an issue like that. Certainly not on par with what we got now. shyt we see teams tank to get certain playoff seeds.

Tough. And I mean everybody said it was dumb to trade that pick.

The bolded is my point. Teams aren't gonna trot these Gleague rosters out here if you gotta win 30 games. Teams aren't gonna keep dudes out way longer than they need to be and make some of these trades if you gotta get 30.

The thing about sucking is that you should be trying your hardest not to. Crossing your fingers for the number 1 pick isnt trying :pachaha:

Third of NBA teams right now purposely not trying to win games. Kills integrity of the game for small shot at top pick

Went through tanking wars with my Pistons. Luckily it worked out one year with Cade. But dropping to 5 threes years in a row of blatant tanking with best odds was crazy.

nikkas acting like there’s a perfect scenario. No one can fix this in a way that every fan thinks it’s a great idea and there’s ways to poke holes in every scenario

Let's "fix" tanking... by giving EIGHTEEN teams, up to and including the fukking 7th seed of each conference, a chance at lottery odds. :what:You'd have top 5 seeded playoff teams throwing games at the tail end of the season depending on how good the draft is if that happened. :unimpressed: fukk snake ass Adam Silver :pacspit:

Lets be real here, seeds 5-8 is exactly where you do not want to be in the NBA. Thats the treadmill range where you are too good to tank but not bad enough to get a high draft pick.
