I think a very small and fast submarine could be made, but it would only be able to transport maybe 5 to 10 people sitting in a row. To make it large and wide would be completely nuts. Kind of like building an airplane here the fuselage was in the shape of a cube. You can do it, but it's not a great idea.

A couple issues. First, if a submarine is traveling that fast underwater, the diesel engines are creating a lot of pollution to maintain that power, think space rocket. All that pollution goes into the ocean.
Second, the Chineezers want to get to the US coast quickly for military reasons. Its stealthy and fast. We already got trans-Pacific jets to transport people quickly already. Think about it.

Ok I guess you did read it properly now ...... I'm sure there are plenty of kinks to get out of something like this to make it safe inside and outside.

I'll admit, I wasn't even thinking about military applications. They could come here cause havoc, and still be back in time for a late lunch of General Tsao Chicken.
