For those wondering why Yao made it, remember...its the Basketball Hall of Fame, not NBA hall of fame. All your accomplishments (High School, College, International, and Professional) are included.

Man, how yall making Shaq an afterthought in this AI slurpfest.

Iverson was that dude, but Shaq was one of the most dominant men to ever play the game. And was probably the most entertaining big man ever.

And as far as culture, Shaq brought hip-hop to the league 4 years before Iverson. Iverson brought the streets, but Shaq was representing a larger % of the youth culture when he broke in.

Lowkey I like the fact that Shaq and Duncan don't have many Stans. They can be appreciated for what they did, instead of people's childhood fantasies of wanting to be like them.

Well said.

Everyone knows Shaq is one of a kind but Iverson did so much for a guy being so small compared to the other elites in history. Barely 6'0 and all of that...he dragged his team to a victory over the unstoppable Shaq 2001 Lakers team. They escaped that first game before getting killed but he carried him and the only one I can think of getting away with that during that timeframe.

Sikma has a much better resume and didn't make the hall

and all those all-star teams don't mean shyt because Yao had 100 million Li's and Wong's that voted him in year after year

see.. you had to it to the business side to validate his HoF.. its suppose to be about the talent you brought to the game..
So are you saying Yao wasn't good enough? Its not so much about the business but about his impact and contributions to the game.
