Well he also had to be good and healthy Yao was great. There's been other Chinese players in the NBA but none were good. What he did for the NBA in regards to China just put him over the top...

I haven't seen Iverson wear anyone else shoes since Georgetown.
It's not the talent you brought to the game, it's the CONTRIBUTION you made to the sport of basketball. Yao Ming made an incredible impact on the game.
The Basketball Hall of Fame voters don't spend all of their time trying to punish guys for not being media favorites or saying shyt like, "Player A is a Hall of Famer, but he's a fifth ballot and not a first ballot, so I'm not gonna vote for him for the first five years." For the most part, if you're even remotely worthy of being in the Hall you're getting in; there's exceptions of course, like anything else.
