Shaq makes a fool of himself every time he opens his mouth but people still think other players were a problem on the teams he was on :mjlol:

I think its fukked up already that players are wasting 7 years on the bum ass team that drafted them. Shouldn't have to spend more than 5 years with a team you don't want to play for.

Yup...Except he didnt beef with D-Wade
and management at every place he went.
Definitely.

People like that swear it's everyone else and not them. They're the ones that tend to fail math because they dont seem to understand the concept of a COMMON denominator. My sister is like that.. Beefs with everyone but swears its everyone else. I tell her at some point you need to look into the fukkin mirror :leostare:

I would abolish the concept of pro sports drafts. Top amateur talent should be able to sign with whatever team they want. Like any other industry.

Sure that would be good for them but would it really be good for the product? You would have all the talent going to the same teams/markets and smaller, less attractive markets would really have no chance. Unlike those other industries the big time teams still need the smaller teams to actually have someone to play against.

So no free agency at all?
How would front offices run if this was a real rule?
No trolling tread
The upside is you know you don't have to move around from city to city.
The downside is if you got drafted to a team at the bottom of the league and rebuilding the team has a 4 year outlook on just getting into the playoffs, not even thinking about championship.
It seems a bit like slavery though in that you can't quit, unless you leave for a European or Chinese pro league. If you don't get along with the coach or the coach isn't good, what are you going to do? You are kind of stuck.

How would front offices run? I can't even wrap my head around that. I can imagine some team owners plotting to kill players who don't perform just to get them off the roster so they can pick up new guys..

You could unconditionally release guys, they would then be free agents. Watch the Curious Case of Curt Flood. It's all about Flood and his fight against the reserve clause.

Yes, you could. But that defeats the idea of staying with the team that drafted you.
Creating a league where you stay with the team that drafted you does away with free agency and trading because unrestricted or restricted free agency allows players to move to a team that didn't draft them.

i want it so that a team only owes 80% of a contract to the cap on players they draft.
