I'm still trying to figure out what Kyrie did to piss everyone off, because I haven't read any of anything. and at this point, I'm too afraid to ask

So Shaq is allowed to host the movie in his theater. Jeff Bezos is allowed to sell and host it on amazon. But Kyrie gets canceled for tweeting it.

Ya'll nikkas are something else boy.
Use your basic logic here. There’s a huge possibility (in fact overwhelmingly likely) that Shaq and Bezos never heard of this movie, unless you believe they personally watch and approve every movie themselves. Kyrie went out of his way to put it out there (I also personally don’t believe he even watched it). That’s a major difference.

For what it’s worth though, I don’t think anything past asking Kyrie about it is appropriate.

SO yeah someone alright tried to use the Shaq and Bezos was an ignorant argument. If Shaq and Bezos are allowed to be ignorant of the film and it's content and benefit from it monetarily so should Kyrie by ya'll logic.

:unimpressed:And by "went out his way" you literally mean sharing it on Twitter which takes all of 5 seconds to do man. Amazon has a share button on most it's products and videos.

So you mentioned Shaq and Bezos not watching the film and they were given a pass. But you believe it's a "major difference" Kyrie didn't watch it either but he doesn't get a pass.

The most high is good. The c00ns and cacs have been running defense for Amazon but NBA Commissioner Adam Silver came out today and said this about the Amazon. Wonder if they're going to switch their tune or keep giving out passes to all parties but Kyrie.

“I think Amazon has to make decisions as well,” Silver said. He added, “My first instinct wasn’t that something, to me, that is so frankly vile and full of hate speech would be contained within Amazon Prime

You really just can't argue with people who make up rules as they see fit. They're always gonna have their reasons for why only some people have to follow their made up on the spot rules and others don't have to and/or just tailor their rules so that it only applies to very specific actions that just so happen to fit what the rulebreaker did with exceptions given that just so happen to fit the criteria of other people.:yeshrug:
I hope you're talking about the OP and the majority in this thread.

For Shaq to be a hypocrite, he would have needed to commit the same action as Kyrie (relatively speaking), which was linking/promoting the film, himself. There's no evidence that Shaq did that. He owns an establishment - he doesn't physically go out there and promote the films in which the theater shows. If he did promote this documentary back in 2019, than yes, that would make him a hypocrite, and this thread would have merit.

But what the most likely scenario is, he has no cotdamn idea of the films that get shown at his theater (he's owned it since 2012, just think all the 100s of films that have been shown since then). He just owns it. He unlikely has any input or oversee in the day-to-day business of what films are shown. This is the same dude who owns over 150+ restaurants and 40+ fitness centers. Do you think he has time to vet every film that is shown?

Shaq maybe guilty of a lot of things, but it's unfair to call him a hypocrite for this when there's absolutely no evidence of that being so.

It's disinformation.

Kyrie linked the film, himself (and yes, he did even up watching the documentary, or so he claims). We have no evidence that Shaq did the same in any manner. We have no evidence that Shaq even heard of it until this recent ordeal. If you were to ask Shaq right now, do he remember every single film that has been shown at his theater since 2012, what do you think he would say?

It's a false equivalence to compare the two.

If Shaq benefitted from it in any monetary manner, then he should be approached on it.

Why don't one of y'all tweet him and ask him if he's gonna make a donation to those impacted by the documentary?

Calling him a hypocrite when the likelihood he doesn't know a cotdamn thing about his theater showing it back in 2019, ain't it.

- Kyrie linked/promoted the film through his twitter, himself (he physically copied the link - nobody else did it for him).
- Shaq has owned a theater complex since 2012; the theater allegedly showed this documentary back in 2019. We have no evidence that Shaq oversees what films are shown, as that is most likely someone else's job/expertise. I doubt he has really much input in the day-to-day managing of any of his businesses. He'll have folks that take care of that for him.

Why is this hard for y'all folks to understand?

They're not the same.

This post is written in such a biased way.
What's so hard for me to understand:

Why do you have such bias against Kyrie?
Why are you posting four times back to back in this thread?
Why are you are you the top poster in this thread?

You want to throw away the criticism of Shaq, fine.
You also criticized people for bringing up that it was on Amazon. Now that the NBA Commissioner is doing the same thing, are you going to criticize him?

This post is written in such a biased way.
The only bias on display is those trying to run interference to deflect from Kyrie's culpability.
Why do you have such bias against Kyrie?
No bias against him.

I'm calling out disinformation and bullshyt.

As I've need to reiterate: do a quick search of my name with the keyword Kyrie, and you'll see me praising his play and defending what he does on the floor more than any other poster. I don't let that affect the actions of the person off the hardwood. This could be about x-player or y-player and my positions would not change.
Why are you posting four times back to back in this thread?
Why are you are you the top poster in this thread?
Why can't you argue against the rationale of my argument?
You want to throw away the criticism of Shaq, fine.
This thread is about Shaq being a hypocrite, and you know very cotdamn well, that isn't that case (well, certainly not in accordance to the evidence in the OP). This is just another cheap trick of a thread that's flooding disinformation around this matter. I've been consistent in every thread around this saga in calling this out.

If anyone actually did some basic fact checking (which of course, goes against the nature of this disinformation ass thread) -
August 22, 2019, CityPlex 12 Newark

- this is NOT the same documentary as the one Kyrie linked/promoted (granted, it's more of the same smart-dumb content, but not the same one)
- it was hosted by Beth El International Church Ministries, and the only way you could buy tickets (other than at the door), was actually through their website.
- there was only one screening.

To recap:

Essentially the BETH-EL International Ministries rented out a theater (as @Nigerianwonder first mentioned), which they actually sold the tickets for, themselves, and they screened a different film to the one Kyrie actually linked.

Different film
One screening
Sold their own tickets.

And yet y'all wanna call Shaq a hypocrite.

I'mma need y'all to come answer to this:

@ReturnOfJudah
@b̶a̶'̶a̶l̶
@UpAndComing
@RhodyRum
@Jesus Is Lord
@Based Lord Zedd

And anyone else that fell for this trap of a thread.
