Yeah, I had thought he had a relationship with Kareem. Maybe he was referring to not talking to Kareem specifically about whatever was going on when he was in Phoenix.

their relationship is not publically regarded a lot for some reason.
not sure why but it is one of those things.
that should be mentioned in regards to shaq.

shaq was taught. It just never showed up against of pedigreed talent. For shaq to utilize shaq's toolbox. As the guard of bigs.
as to no fault of Shaq's own was not the same. Plus America was different from a grassroots perspective. of which was different because of a number of factors from military to healthy economy law's etc.
as to no fault of shaq's of course. It just was a factor of the time.

Shaq being corny and insecure again

Having more championship rings does not automatically make you a teflon against those who won less rings. A criticism is warranted, and Walton was right as Shaq wasn't a good fit in Phoenix + Walton was a very talented player on offense in his prime and one of the very greatest college players of all time. This ain't no Cody from Nebraska speaking his mind, Walton is a hall of famer based off his UCLA career alone, and then he won a championship and MVP with the Blazers to add it to his resume.

Shaq took plenty of L's in his career just like most of the NBA ballers, he got swept by Hakeem, Robinson and Duncan duo (where Robinson was still All-Star level) lost to Pistons two years in a row where Ben Wallace in some of those games looked better than he was supposed to.

In those Phil Jackson coached Laker years + 3 Miami seasons his biggest competition, other than the Spurs, was wayyy past his prime injury ridden Sabonis (who won euroleague MVP at the age of 40), Divac, Mutombo, Yao, Ben and the rest of them dudes he either didn't meet with in the playoffs or it was bunch of bums like Olowokandi, Dampier, Mcculloch or washed up Rik Smits.

Shaq doesnt even use hypocrite correctly. Everyone knows the injuries derailed walton's career and thats why he came off the benchater on with the celtics. Not the same.

And even when the heat fulfilled hisntrade request he talked shyt on them

Riley: Shaq's criticism of former Heat team 'sad'

It's a known fact Shaq talks shyt on his former teammates to boost his legacy. He got his ass whooped by the young Bulls team lol, if Shaq had elite work ethic he likely wins one or two more championships as mid 00s championships were up for grabs until Lakers got Pau and Celtics got big three,

The point is that you can't compare Bill Walton critiquing Shaq to Shaq critiquing Mitchell. It's not about whether Shaq was right to critique Mitchell, but Bill Walton is not as accomplished as Shaq. It would be like Tim Legler critiquing Mitchell.

:gucci: Bill Walton is former MVP and HOF. He got every right to critique Shaq when Shaq at the time wasn't performing the way he should've hence why he was traded from Miami to Phoenix. Besides the comments between Shaq and Walton were between 2 guys whose careers were finished. Shaq coming at Mitchell like he hasn't been playing good basketball at his age. Like he wasn't tearing shyt up in the playoffs last year.

Plus, it would've made sense if Mitchell and the Jazz were struggling. Mitchell dropped 36 in that game and the Jazz are currently in the midst of an 8 game winning streak and .5 GB out of first in the West. So instead of giving props to a team that looks to be on the up and up, Shaq decides to shyt on them for whatever reason.

in the 90’s with the Orlando magic Shaw played a totally different and much more finesse style. Check out the 30 for 30 on the Orlando magic. Dude was much more finesse and up and down the court athleticism was how he played. Wasn’t until the Lakers got Phil Jackson and Hakeem, Ewing and a few others got older that he switched to that slow grind bully post up game. I’m not saying those guys could have stopped him but it is a fact that Shaq switched up his style after most elite centers of the 90’s they got old af and or retired
What does any of that got to do with him giving nikkas that work?

This wasn’t a rookie Shaq he was critiquing. This was a 15 year veteran Shaq. Shaq was strictly saying he doesn’t have those stripes. Bill Russell, Wilt Chamberlan, Kareem Abdul Jabbar yes, but not Bill fukking Walton.
